The Mines, Dublin 6 Specially written and performed for Rathmines Festival by Tommy O’Neill of Fair City. This one man show follows the lives five people who live in one house. Their stories are told by two of the characters who have lived the same bed-sit for over 30 years. Everyone has a story, everyone has a past but not everyone has a future. Directed by Tara Nixon O’Neill, Tommy’s daughter, whose acting credits include The Stardust, Pure Mule, Seer and Becoming Jane. Music by the wonderful and accomplished Jenny Wren. Thanks for the Dance by Jim Martini performed by Sweet & Dry Theatre Company.  Five interconnected short plays (Unequal Partners, After Lenny, Lady in Blue, Mothers’ Day and Cocktail Hour) take a wry and amusing look at contemporary life, relationships and lifestyles. Philadelphia Here I Come by Brian Friel performed by Silken Thomas Players. Events take place on the night before and morning of Gar's departure to America. Gar is portrayed by two characters, Gar Public ("the Gar that people see, talk to, talk about") and Gar Private ("the unseen man, the man within, the conscience") who live with his father, a county councilor and shopkeeper with whom he has never connected.
